Seems to work well...
Does not seem to work. Website is gone too, guess that was a waste of a buck.
The app seems to have installed correctly by when you try to calibrated with a picture, you got a white screen. If not calibrated you only got a 0 value... Dont touch this app, its useless! no support.
it does not work in my Ipod 4thgen. it s a fraud dont buy it. I tried to reach the web site and there is no website
This luxmeter didnt work . Unable to read correct light level after calibration with real luxmeter
Every time get different value on the same spot. So, What is the actual light Lux is at that spot?
I strongly hope it will be available for iPod touch.
useful in Japan. Due to nuclear power plant problem, every Japanese (especially east JAPAN) has consiousness that we need to save the energy, therefore some switch off also necessary lighting for working environment. Im working in office administration section, and I can show the standard by this application easily. I dont compare with actual lux meter, so I hope this application will have further accuracy.
This program is wrong. The measurement is not correct !
Boh
Doesnt work on iPhone 6! Please solve!
Im changing out the incandescent and cfl light bulbs in my house and needed a basic luxmeter to test out various led options. Theres so many lighting options available now at various color values, bulb shapes, luminosity, and price points thats its really complex to switch and end up with good results. I bought this app and have found it to be helpful but there are currently no advanced features included or offered as depicted. What you get is not what shows in the App Store description. Its pretty basic but works well. Based on the downloadable instructions that you can find hidden within the app it seems the developer knows a lot about lighting and seems to have great plans for this app and something else called LightMeter plus advanced but right now this is just a basic meter that will give you Lux values. You can swap out cameras front or back.
I got this app to measure light intensity around my orchids as they need specific light to grow and bloom. I was disappointed with this apps capability. Here are my thoughts: 1. App starts with a promo/description message and you need to press "ON" to actually start using the program. This message comes on each time app is started and I find it useless. This message can also be seen by pressing "i" in the lower right corner which provides no additional information. 2. The calibration doesnt have options for you to use built-in values for known light sources. It is nice to be able to make manual adjustments but I do not want to search the web for lux values of lets say 100W and 75W incandescent lightbulbs each time I need to calibrate. Also, the manual calibration is rather clumsy. You have to slide a button to adjust gain to correspond to right lux value. This is rather difficult especially if holding the phone up towards a light source. 3. This app utilizes rear camera. While this is the only option for some devices, the app could benefit using the face camera on the iPhone 4. It is hard to point the device at the light source and still be able to see the screen. 4. Once all calibrations are done, the app works ok. I cannot say how accurate the measured values are as I do not have a secondary light meter to cross reference. One thing to note: the measurements are rather unstable and fluctuate a lot (could be due to shaking of the phone). 5. Choice of different units would be nice. While lux is the scientific unit, some US applications still use foot- candles as the preferred measure. I can do the conversion myself but would be nice if I didnt have to. 6. An option to turn off the sound would be nice. It beeps each time some buttons are pressed and can get annoying. In summary, its $0.99 cents wasted. At the time of my purchase there were no reviews so I took a chance. I hope that the developers will read my review and make improvements. I will wait for the next update but now I can only give two stars for the effort.
Also not working on my 4th generation touch even though the website description says it should and the developers support website is either mis-addressed or non existent. Also will rate again when fixed.
Doesnt work on 4th gen. It should be fixed or pulled off the store.
Does not work with iPhone 4. Will resubmit when fixed
Update 3/23/11! STILL Does not work with IPhone 4. No way to contact developer for support. App should be pulled from store immediately!
I agree with the reviewer above on the following: 1: Since this a paid for app, it should start right up to the main screen, do an auto calibration & start measuring ambient, or any light source right away. 2: As mentioned above, calibration should be automatic via the camera lens in the iphone. The "custom" cal with gain should only be for custom uses & for "normal " use, not be needed. 3: This one makes no sense, if you use the front camera, how are you going to see the screen when pointing it at the light source, unless its behind you? Also, the front camera is a lesser MP lens & has poorer quality, keep using the rear camera, to the SD, KIS. 4: Instructions are sparse, it does seem to work, & yes, it fluctuates since when you move the camera as light changes from place to place, this I like. 5: I also would like to see Lumens but it is a simple app to measure ambient light, or a light source so you can compare one source to another, it works OK far as that goes. 6: far as sound, put the slider on vibrate, no more sound, again, KIS, dont need to write more into the app than needed. My Summary, please work on points 1, 2, 4 & maybe 5. When addressed & implemented, I will change from 3 to 5 stars. Long as it works, starts fast & goes right to the main screen upon startup, it does what I want it to do, which is compare one source to another to see which is truly brighter & emits more light. Still make you turn it on upon start up vs. going to on & ready right away, PLEASE FIX! Also, there is no way to contact this developer & since suggestions are inplimeneted, it says they are not reading the reviews.
It works now with my 4th gen I touch thabks
All I get on my iPhone 4 when I try to calibrate is a white screen, nothing else. Thats not to mention the baffling instructions and controls.
